Index Scanner is an app designed to assist users in making healthier daily food choices. By leveraging AI technology, the app analyzes photos of food and provides valuable feedback, such as glycemic index data. This information empowers users to make smarter and more informed decisions about what they eat

The glycemic index (GI) is a numerical scale used to measure how quickly and how much a carbohydrate-containing food raises blood sugar levels after being consumed. Foods are ranked on a scale from 0 to 100, with pure glucose having a GI of 100, representing a rapid increase in blood sugar.

• High GI foods (70 and above): These foods cause a quick spike in blood sugar levels. Examples include white bread, sugary drinks, and many processed snacks.

• Medium GI foods (56-69): These foods cause a moderate rise in blood sugar. Examples include whole wheat bread, brown rice, and certain fruits like bananas.

• Low GI foods (55 and below): These foods cause a slower, more gradual rise in blood sugar. Examples include oats, legumes, and most vegetables.

The glycemic index is particularly useful for individuals looking to manage their blood sugar levels, such as people with diabetes, or for those aiming to maintain steady energy levels throughout the day. It can help guide food choices to promote better health and prevent spikes in blood sugar that can lead to cravings and energy crashes.

If you wish to delete your photos from the Index Scanner app, please note that due to the anonymous nature of our service, the Index Scanner team cannot delete your data for you. We can’t link any data on our servers to a specific user. 

However, you have the option to delete each photo individually by tapping the delete icon located in the top-right corner of the screen. 

If you want to remove all your data at once, you can use the “Delete Account Data” button found in the app menu. Once this action is completed, all your data will be permanently removed, and this process cannot be undone.

There’s no need to create an account with Index Scanner. Our app is completely anonymous. We store your data under an anonymous ID, which is not linked to your device or email address. Your subscription is associated with your respective application store account, not with the Index Scanner app itself. This ensures your privacy and allows you to use the app without any personal information being tied to your usage.
